Services

Engagements are scoped to the decision in front of you. Most begin as a focused review and continue as ongoing advisory.

01

Financial Operations & Reporting

Close process, management reporting, forecasting, and the systems behind them. Numbers that arrive on time and mean something.

02

Entity & Ownership Structure

Multi-entity design for operating companies, holding vehicles, and trusts — coordinated with your tax and legal counsel so the structure serves the business, not the other way around.

03

Capital & Transaction Analysis

Underwriting, diligence, and decision memos for acquisitions, investments, and real estate. Independent, documented, and built to be challenged.

04

Operating Cadence

The rhythm of a well-run company: payroll and vendor controls, policy, dashboards, and the recurring reviews that keep owners informed and operators accountable.

Dave Longville Jr

Founder & Principal

Houston, Texas

Dave founded Mirkwood Consulting after a decade spent on every side of the private-company table: public accounting, financial advisory, corporate finance leadership, and family office management.

He was a partner at an Orange County, California accounting firm serving closely held businesses and their owners, and began his career in financial and investment advisory. Since 2019 he has led finance and operations for a Microsoft-focused software reseller while managing tax, estate, and investment strategy across a family office's trusts and operating entities.

That range is the point. Most problems a private enterprise faces sit at the seam between disciplines — where the accountant, the attorney, the investment manager, and the operator each see only part of it. Mirkwood's work is to see the whole thing and make the decision legible.

Approach

Small by design. One principal, direct access, no hand-offs.

  1. Understand the whole structure

Entities, ownership, cash flows, people, and systems — mapped before any recommendation is made.

  2. Frame the actual decision

Most engagements reduce to two or three choices with real trade-offs. The work is making those explicit, quantified, and documented.

  3. Coordinate the specialists

Mirkwood works alongside your attorneys, tax preparers, and investment managers — translating between them and holding the plan together.

  4. Build it to run without us

Reporting, controls, and cadence are installed in your systems and your team, not held in ours.
